Cumberland River Compact
1% for the Planet connected me with the Cumberland River Compact. This Nashville, Tennessee-based non-profit is committed to enhancing the health and enjoyment of the Cumberland River and its tributaries in Tennessee and Kentucky. Preserving Tennessee’s waterways and public lands is very important to me. My outdoor passions include fly-fishing and hiking and we are fortunate to have so many rivers, streams and parks throughout the Middle Tennessee area. Discovering that I could make an impact by giving 1% of my annual revenues was an opportunity I could not pass up! These dollars go directly to those whose mission is protecting the resources important to me.
The Cumberland River Compact projects include Adopt-A-Stream, Creek Critters, Water for Schools, and Riparian Buffer Plantings programs. CRC offers various volunteering projects including Dam Inventory and the Mansker Creek Watershed Restoration Project. All Cumberland River Compact members have exclusive rights to rent The River Center; a LEED Platinum event space building located at the base of the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge, on the eastern bank of the Cumberland River, just a short walk from Downtown Nashville.
