The Beach Company entered Nashville in 2014 with the purchase of a Downtown Nashville site located in the high-growth SoBro area. Beach wanted one additional suburban site for apartments, though in a submarket without too much (new) supply. The subject property was zoned RM20; however, it had been passed-over by other developers due to its topographic challenges. It’s 41 acres in the west Nashville submarket of Bellevue and sits atop a big hill overlooking the Cumberland River and Bells Bend Park. The sites irreplaceable views came at a cost; its challenging topography and alluvial soils impeded site planning with increased horizontal development costs. We worked through these issues and Bells Bluff, a truly unique luxury garden apartment complex, is set to open 3Q19.
